Zinc Ricinoleate is the zinc salt of ricinoleic acid, a major fatty acid found in castor oil. It is used in many deodorants as an odor-adsorbing agent.
When we sweat, germs on our skin break down perspiration and produce byproducts with an odor. These odor molecules may make unpleasant odors. To stop odor molecules from being released into the atmosphere and lessen their stink, zinc ricinoleate binds and traps them.
While addressing the stench from sweating, zinc ricinoleate does not impair the natural sweating process, and it reduces the sense of body odor by capturing and neutralizing the odor molecules.
